Indoor & Outdoor Plantation Activities

40 students from grades 10 and 11 students, directed by the Science teacher, have been involved in plantation activities to develop their investigative and interpretive skills.

The plantation activities were classified into three categories that aim to increase our students’ knowledge, skills, and attitudes in relation to the essence of planting, beautifying, and protecting the green areas in the environment:

  1. Flowering plants were planted  in 8 pots inside and outside the school
  2. Seedling was done in seven squares of the plantation field in the backyard of the school to study and analyze the growth of  beans, sunflowers, corn, parsley, and tomatoes.
  3. Trees

a)      Five fruitful trees were planted in the plantation field (1 Cherry Tree, 2 Apple Trees, 1 Plum Tree, and 1 Almond Tree).

b)     Twelve Non-fruitful trees were planted in the plantation field (2 Cedar Trees, 1 Tuya Tree, 4 Virbunum Trees, 1 Olive Tree)

Having a rich, green natural field around the school enhances students’ learning, interests, and attitude towards their local environment. Therefore, new teaching methods like inquiry, experiments, projects, and discovery are implemented in order to develop students’ cognitive, physical, emotional, and social skills needed to learn about the environment, in the environment, and for the environment. The school vision is to be a green eco friendly school in three major domains: curriculum, management of resources, and management of school grounds.
