Continuous Professional Development

Evaluating Our Own Teaching

The primary difference between those teachers who do and those who do not improve, is that only the former has a keen eye to know their weaknesses or flaws, and makes an effort to improve their teaching methodology. The objective of this workshop is to encourage the teachers to take initiative to have self-assessment using the given criteria by videotaping their own sessions. In this workshop, Mrs. Jinan Karameh presented a videotape showing her own classroom session to her colleagues to be evaluated. This will be followed by her own reflection to her session including the plans for future improvements.

Believing in the essence of school self-evaluation and the need to have an accurate picture of the quality of teaching and learning in AMS, continuous professional development has been established. Leaders, coordinators, and teachers meet weekly on Wednesdays for one or two hours to present workshops aimed at improving teachers’ performance and raising standards of student’s achievement.
